We are looking for highly capable and enthusiastic candidates to join the team on the development of a new line of energy storage products. This position is for a Software Engineer reporting to the Director of Engineering. This person will assist the software design effort to develop and commercialize new energy storage. Close work with the team comprised of engineers, scientists, product management, and senior management will be required. Level and compensation will be consistent with experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have prior experience in energy storage technology and are demonstrated successful multi-taskers.
Headquartered in Columbia Falls, Montana. Company is in the process of developing the next-generation grid storage technology, based upon a large-scale energy redox storage battery. The aim is to provide cost effective storage for renewable generation technologies and provide greater efficiency for the nation's energy grid.
Responsibilities and Primary Activities
Programming to support embedded hardware design for battery management system. Programming to support HMI interface development. Work with outside contract engineering resources. Maintain and manage software bug tracking software. Manage software revisions and documentation. Assist in troubleshooting performance issues for both hardware and software. Write requirements, specifications, test plans, and verification reports. Perform software tests per test plans. Create patent and other intellectual property disclosures. Contribute to Next-Gen product team's design effort.
Requirements
BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering Minimum of 5 years software design experience for energy storage technology or industrial automated equipment Minimum of 2 years experience with real time systems and their control Minimum of 2 years experience with database management system controls Minimum of 2 years experience with software engineering development methodologies Must be able to work and reside in Montana Proof of ability to work in the US Preferred Experience
1-3 years of demonstrable programming experience with microprocessors. Programming experience with C, C++, or C# User interface development in Visual Basic, C++, or C# Familiar with embedded hardware design Understand real time systems and their control Understand database management system controls Understand software engineering development methodologies Preferred Skills/Attributes
Goal oriented and self-directed Strong and clear communicator (written and verbal) Strong individual contributor who is a team player when needed Proven track record of working with a diverse and multi-faceted development team Demonstrated work ethic consistent within a start-up atmosphere Able to prioritize activities in order to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines.
